The Scientists' Club of Sugarcane Breeding Institute is organizing a Tree Planting Programme on 2  January 2012 at 10 am in the Institute premises. 

100 tree saplings are to be planted to commemorate 100 years of our glorious existence.

Centenary Special Cover

 

Special Cover on 
Sugarcane Breeding Institute's Centenary released!

India Post released a Special cover commemorating the centenary celebrations of Sugarcane Breeding Institute on 26 November 2011. 
The special cover was released by Shri A.N.Nanda, Postmaster General, Western Region during the Kovaipex-2011 District level Philatelic Exhibition held at Coimbatore.  The cover was received by Dr N.Vijayan Nair, Director of Sugarcane Breeding Institute.

Journal of Sugarcane Research


"Society for Sugarcane Research & Development" (SSRD) has been formed and registered in March 2011 thanks to the initiatives and efforts of Dr.N.Vijayan Nair, Director, Sugarcane breeding Institute (SBI). This will cater to the needs of sugarcane Research workers, Development people and Factory personnel. The society has launched a journal by name "Journal of sugarcane Research" to act as a platform for the publication of  valuable research findings. The first issue of the Journal was released by Dr.S. Ayyappan, Secretary, Dept. of Agricultural Research & Education, Govt. of India and Director General, Indian Council of Agricultural Research during the launch function of the Centenary celebrations of SBI on 24th Oct. 2011. All involved/interested in sugarcane are invited to become members of the Society for a nominal subscription and contribute to the journal. The Office of the Society is located at SBI, Coimbatore.
